About

Tyldesley Explosion Consultancy Ltd is the business established by fire and explosion hazards expert Alan Tyldesley.

After 21 years as a specialist inspector with the Health and Safety Executive, Alan has an established reputation in a diverse range of aspects of fire and explosion hazards.

Alan offers expertise in a range of specialist work areas including dust explosions, chemical warehousing and hazardous area classification.

Alan holds an honours degree in chemistry from Oxford University, and worked as a chemist in the chemical industry before joining HSE.

He gained the status of Chartered Engineer through the Institution of Fire Engineers soon after they gained the status of being a nominating organisation from the Engineering Council, and has served on the membership committee of their Engineering Council Division. He has previously been an occasional reviewer of papers for the Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries
