Alan has experience in formal legal settings, and has provided expert witness statements for criminal cases, such as the prosecution in Liverpool Crown Court of the chipboard manufacturer Sonae UK Ltd, in Scottish Fatal Accident Inquiries and in civil cases. He has also given evidence in the planning inquiries for proposed storage by Canatxx of natural gas in salt caverns in the Fylde area, and by Warwick Energy for proposed storage of natural gas in a depleted well in East Yorkshire, and provided expert input in support of planning applications in the vicinity of major hazard sites.
